Проблем с DPMS при ATI видеокарта

Здравейте ! Наскоро закупих видеокарта ATI RX550 и оттогава, само ядове бера с нея. Поредният ми проблем с нея е, че под Xfce не може да се изключва екрана при неактивност. Всичко, което ползва DPMS не работи. Екранът се изключва за секунда и се включва отново. Ако има заключваща програма от типа на light-locker, тя се включва и екранът остава в заключено положение. Изглежда има някакъв конфликт с xfce4-settings, защото след повторното включване на екрана се оказва, че има променени настройки. Например, потребителската настройка на дисплея е нулирана. 

Намерих подобен проблем, който е останал нерешен.

Моля, ако някой знае приложение/скрипт за управление на състоянието на дисплея, който не работи чрез DPMS (в момента съм го изключил), нека ми каже, как се казва и как да го ползвам. Достатъчно ми е само едно действие - изключване на екрана след неактивност от 10 минути. За изключването на компютъра вече съм пипнал настройките на systemd, но не знам, дали има и такива за дисплея.

Нищо не съм пипал и не съм вкарвал опции в настройката на GRUB. Само променям секундите за отсрочка пред зареждане. При същата конфигурация, но под LXDE, DPMS работи. 

П.П.: Само на DPMS ли се разчита при приспиването на екрана при неактивност. Никой ли не е правил алтернатива ?

Благодаря ! Да, това е проблемът. При въвеждане на екрана в режим на приспиване, покой или хибернация, картата симулира горещо изключване и рестартира настройките. Решението, поне за момента е добавяне на параметър "amdgpu.dc=0" в настройките на GRUB. От това, което опитах, нищо друго не работи.

Благодаря ! Ако нещо се обърка ще тествам и това. Засега съм закрепил нещата и не искам да пипам повече. Не съм сигурен, дали ще познае "radeon", защото аз не съм инсталирал старият драйвър. Видях Polaris 12 в списъка с поддръжка на новия (amdgpu) и ползвам направо него.

Чак сега забелязах че е от новите карти.

Не знам, ти явно си първия и единствен човек дето се оплаква от "ядове с АМД карта по линукс" От много години АМД е безпроблемно в Линукс (за разлика от Nvidia)

dpm е включен по подразбиране във amdgpu модула.

xfce е скандално известно с тези проблеми от време оно. (и аз съм го ползвал известно време). При мен проблема беше не че не се гаси екрана, а че се гаси дори когато гледам на цял екран под xfce (но това беше без значение АМД Нвидия, и в двата случая го правеше).

Ако е наистина бъг в xfce-power-manager (което не изключвам, то тогава е ясна работата).

 

Иначе като една допълнителна екстра, можеш да си инсталираш corectrl

Ако прочетеш информацията от връзката на piх3l, ще видиш, че не съм единствен. Проблемът е описван и в други форуми, но не видях решение в тях. Нищо общо няма xfce4-power-manager. И без него, проблемът е налице. Проблемът е с DPMS чрез който той работи. 

Има ли други приложения за Linux за настройка на видеокартата, които работят с отвореният драйвър ? Доколкото разбирам Corectrl е такова, въпреки мъгливото обяснение в описанието. 

Аз до колкото разбрах, проблемът е, че след заспиване, когато се прекъсне сигнала към монитора, монитора започва да сканира отново, при което се изпраща сигнал към видеокартата и системата се събужда. Ако мониторът има опция за изключване на този input polling, няма да имаш ядове.

Не знам, каква опция има, но този монитор е работил доскоро в GT730 и там не е имало такива проблеми. Проблемът е с няколко карти на ATI и монитор на HDMI изход. Доколкото разбрах, картатата реагира неадекватно на задействането на DPMS. Pаботи само опцията "Черен екран" в предпазители, като xscreensaver, които не ползват за нея DPMS. В момента, когато премине в режим на покой или изключване, изискващ DPMS, шоуто пак започва. 

По принцип HDMI има проблем и при звука на лаптоп(и) (ако няма нищо такова включено). И иска побарване в биоса (за звука говоря). Но какво пречи да помага нещо такова (побарване в биоса) и за монитора.

 

Освен това, Кибер, ти твърдо ни засилваше, че е радеон... И един път не даде какво връща еди-кво-си, дето разпознава картата.

firmware-amd-graphics не поддържа дърти карти, а за тази карта мисля, че изобщо няма работещ драйвер, дори когато е била актуална (тогава ръцете на ати им бяха в г*за и windows-ките бяха калпави, пък да не говорим за линукс)... отделно open source драйверите са боклук. нвидиа - точно обратното имаха много читави драйвери - още на nvidia vanta 16mb ram съм играл quake3 под линукс на opengl (не знам Росен от къде ги измисля тия глупости за nvidia - вероятно е карал на опън сорс боклука nouveau)...

firmware-amd-graphics не поддържа дърти карти, а за тази карта мисля, че изобщо няма работещ драйвер, дори когато е била актуална (тогава ръцете на ати им бяха в г*за и windows-ките бяха калпави, пък да не говорим за линукс)... отделно open source драйверите са боклук. нвидиа - точно обратното имаха много читави драйвери - още на nvidia vanta 16mb ram съм играл quake3 под линукс на opengl (не знам Росен от къде ги измисля тия глупости за nvidia - вероятно е карал на опън сорс боклука nouveau)...

Начо ти е показал Polaris 12 в списъка. И, аз го проверих, преди да инсталирам драйвъра.  Новият драйвър е за карти, произведени след 2015г., а тази е от 2017.  Проблемът е налице и при инсталиран официален драйвър. Tествах го и него под Ubuntu 22.04. 

Относно firmware-amd-graphics, впечатлението ми до момента е, че не може да се сравнява с Nouveau. Не съм правил тестове, но не се усеща разлика между двата драйвъра при работа. При тези на Nvidia, разликата между свободният и фирменият е огромна.
